I’ve gathered nearly 20 years of professional experience working with children. My background is in early childhood, special education, social work, and mental health. I specialize in working with children with comorbidities. My primary clientele has been at-risk youth, both in and out of the foster care system, and providing preventative support for the families and caregivers surrounding them.
Some of my past adventures have included, but are not limited to:
Paraeducator, early childhood preschool teacher in an inclusive classroom (50% special needs, 50% at-risk neurotypical students), supervisor for a statewide team of mental health crisis responders, mental health work in the foster care system, followed by supervising an outpatient mental health team at a non-profit that works with low-income and at-risk families. I frequently partner with other clinicians, medical professionals, and research teams at various universities to formulate and develop the most up-to-date and therapeutic approaches for the children and families I serve.
My time working with these various populations has taught me that systems and supports are the lifeline to ensuring individual human success. I also believe that all a child needs is at least one adult to care for and believe in them to make a life-changing impact and alter the child’s life trajectory in a positive direction.
