My goal is to meet clients where they are and to encourage them to believe that wherever they are is OKAY. Sadness, grief, and the need for support do not mean that we are deficient in any way. Coming to therapy does not indicate a lack of strength or resilience. In fact, I believe that just the opposite is true. Seeking help, asking for support, are signs of strength, not weakness. Above all else, I want my clients to feel safe and supported.Â
Evidence based practices are vital to my work with clients. Of these, I strongly believe in the therapeutic value of writing (journal writing, poetry, etc.) as a source of healing, and I talk about this with many of my clients. I am in a certification program with the Institute for Poetic Medicine and plan to complete Phase 3 (of 3) in 2024.
When I am not working, I can often be found working on a poem or a quilt. My favorite place on earth next to HOME is the Pacific Ocean. I Love each of my clients for the precious and priceless human being he or she is, and I value my time with each of them.
