While many assume Marriage and Family Therapy focuses solely on couples and families, this therapeutic lens actually views individuals as part of larger psychosocial systems. We are shaped by—and shape—our environments, relationships, and social contexts. This perspective allows for a deeper understanding of challenges such as anger, fear, sadness, and intrusive thoughts or emotions that may not be visible to others.
My clinical approach is grounded in helping clients rediscover the part of themselves that allows them to thrive—emotionally, socially, and psychologically. As Jean Piaget once said, “Intelligence is the ability to thrive in one’s environment.” My goal is to support clients in regaining that capacity, building resilience, and finding peace within themselves and their world.
I’m a Master’s-level Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with individuals from all walks of life. My background spans diverse settings—from children’s psychiatric hospitals to maximum-security state prisons—where I’ve provided assessment, referral, and treatment using a range of trauma-informed approaches.
