Jennifer attended Wichita State University and received an MSW as well as a BSW.
She has been working as a social worker for over 16 years and has worked with a variety of populations. She has helped individuals with intellectual disabilities as a case manager. She has assisted people that are homeless or at risk of being homeless in finding or maintaining a home. She worked as a crisis counselor where she assisted individuals that were in a mental health crisis. I assisted college students with balancing work, home, and school life as a mental health counselor.
She likes to specialize her approach according to the needs of the people she serves. She uses a variety of modalities and interventions. Her favorite modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this approach is a second wave of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). She admires the fact that it is strength-based and helps with anxiety, depression, and addiction.
She prefers to work with adults and helping them with life transitions, anger management, communication, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression and addiction.
