My name is Lauren MacPherson. I am a clinical social worker with 15 years of experience in a variety of fields originally in child protection and foster care. When I had my daughter a few years ago I decided that I needed to step away from the foster care system.
I slowly opened my own practice and gained experience working with adults and have worked with adults in the Air Force, prison system, and now most recently in Drug and Alcohol addiction.
I became a therapist because I truly wanted to help people heal. I am trained in EMDR, CBT, and DBT therapies and I specialize in treating trauma and also just helping adults who are in transitions.
I have a strong spiritual focus as well as am able to help people who are seeking a more spiritual relationship with themselves and their higher power/higher calling.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. I have been trained in EMDR since 2016. I have an online book that I published called Tic Talk Around the Clock, My Journey, My Life, My Tourette’s which is a book about my life and experiences growing up with Tourette’s Syndrome.
It can be found on Amazon KDP. My favorite quote is “Belief is the beginning” and “The greatest words in our language are ‘I Am’ because what follows it defines you.”
